A strategic renovation education platform founded by Interior Designer Jamie Bechard.

Born from over two decades of hands-on renovation experience and the evolution of her design studio, The Renovation Coach bridges the gap between high-end residential design thinking and the everyday homeowner.
At its core, The Renovation Coach exists to change the way homeowners approach renovation.
Not by teaching you how to swing a hammer.
But by teaching you how to think.
Through structured planning frameworks, financial clarity, sequencing strategy, and real-world renovation leadership, Jamie equips homeowners to lead their projects with confidence — before construction begins.
The result?
Calmer builds.
Stronger budgets.
Smarter decisions.
Plan smarter. Renovate wiser.
Not many people know this, but before The Renovation Coach existed, I learned about renovating the hard way. I grew up around construction. My father ran a framing business. My mother renovated and decorated our homes. Renovation felt familiar — until I was responsible for one myself.
My DIY brick & beam loft renovation.
My 130-year-old Victorian renovation.
My gut renovation of a gothic revival cottage in the country.
Each project taught me something different — about contracts, sequencing, allowances, timing, and how quickly costs compound when decisions are made too late. After these awakening experiences, I formalized my training and launched my own design and build studio.
Over time, I began seeing renovations through a new lens. Design was only one layer. The real leverage lived in the build strategy. I developed a system — one that allowed me to act as both interior designer and general contractor on our own projects, managing trades, protecting budgets, and leading renovations with intention. These projects included my lakehouse lodge new-build and my gut renovation of a former duplex into a restored 1920's Tudor home.
Friends began asking for help.
Clients wanted my planning frameworks before they ever hired a contractor.
That’s when I realized:
Homeowners don’t need more Pinterest boards. They need leadership tools.
The Renovation Coach was created to make that knowledge accessible — so you can step into your renovation prepared, strategic, and confident.
I’m so glad you’re here.
